Our BCAA’s are plant based – ingredients are derived from vegetables or synthetic compounds, making them gluten free and vegetarian. There are various forms of Silicone Dioxide and the one used in our BCAA and any other supplement is Amorphous Silica (a mineral, which is mostly quartz). This is used as an anti-caking agent to absorb excess moisture and to prevent the capsules from sticking together when exposed to moist or humid conditions without interfering with the active ingredients.
Silicon dioxide is found in many things we eat and drink. In fact it is in our drinking water! It has been deemed safe for consumption by a number of studies.
Below is a breakdown of the Amino Acids contained in our Unflavored Whey Protein Powder. They have approximately 4.4g of BCAA’s – which is the equivalent to about one serving of our BCAA tablets.
‘1 gram of protein, per pound of body weight per day’ has been a bodybuilding rule of thumb for decades. So for example, if you weight 100lb you need 100g of protein each day. If you wanted to gain weight, then use your ‘goal weight’ in the calculation instead of your current weight.
But of course this is just an estimate and it will vary depending on your goals, metabolism and regime!
To help you calculate, one serving of our protein powder is 20g of protein. You’ll need to research how much protein you are getting from your regular meals and add them together.
But if all the calculating isn’t for you, you can just take one or two servings a day to keep things simple.
All of our products are available exclusively on Amazon.com. Here is a link to our Amazon store:
Mix one scoop (25g) with 4-6oz of water, milk or your favorite beverage. Vary the amount of liquid for taste preference.
When we say ‘unflavored’ we just mean that we didn’t add flavorings! It will still have a natural milky taste, so you may enjoy it best when mixed in a smoothie or baked into a recipe.
Keep it sealed tight and in a cool, dry place. You do not want it going stale, it will get real funky!
Unflavored protein has a natural milky taste, which is not for everyone. So you may prefer to mix it into a recipe. This is why we offer a free recipe Ebook with every purchase of our protein powder on Amazon.com.
The cows are not 100% grass fed – grass fed whey is usually imported as the USA just doesn’t have the grassland to support it. Whereas ours is produced in the USA.
We cannot guarantee that our whey protein is hormone free. Due to the nature of the sourcing our Whey, we cannot 100% guarantee hormones were not used on some of the cattle. So we don’t want to claim it!
Whey protein comes from all-natural cows milk, so it is not vegan-friendly.
It is gluten-friendly as it is essentially processed milk. However, we do not have the USDA certifications to ‘officially’ state that it is gluten-free.
There is a trace amount of sunflower lecithin added to allow the powder to mix more easily.
However, all of our products are manufactured and packaged in a facility which may also process, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and crustacean shellfish.
Our protein is sourced, manufactured and packaged in the USA.
Put simply, L-Glutamine powder is produced through the fermentation of corn sugar, which makes it vegan-friendly. However, we do not have the USDA certifications to ‘officially’ state that it is vegan or gluten-free.
Our L-Glutamine tablets, however, have an animal product glaze, making them non-vegetarian.
All our products are manufactured and packaged in a facility which may also process milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and crustacean shellfish.
An automatic email with your guide attached will get sent to you soon after your product has shipped. However, this can end up in spam folders or get deleted! So there are instructions on the side of all our bottles with a link to download it as well.
We are very sorry about that! We use the Amazon Warehouses to store, process and send our supplements and they are normally very quick. There must have been some kind of mix up, or possibly a problem with the local postal service.
If you like, you can also contact Amazon directly about your missing delivery and they should be able to re-send it, which you can do at: www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=518316
Otherwise please contact us at info@rawbarrel.com and we will be happy to help you with your order.
Check out our blog post about creatine at: www.rawbarrel.com/what-is-creatine-monohydrate/
Take 5g dissolved into any liquid, any time of a day, every day. This is exactly one scoop (which you can find in your tub) or about one teaspoon. If you are using pills instead of powder, just swallow enough capsules to add up to 4-5g of creatine.
You don’t have to dissolve creatine, I even know some people who even eat it as a straight powder! Which is really what happens when you take creatine as a pill.
Dissolving creatine just allows your body to absorb it a little more easily. Some people’s stomachs are sensitive to creatine and dissolving it will help reduce this upset.
Also creatine dissolves much better in warm rather than cold water. You could even mix it in your hot tea or coffee for an extra boost of energy.
Creatine isn’t a wonder steroid, it’s just going to help you get a few more reps in. These extra reps should occur a day or two after taking it regularly. In fact it may be easy not to notice them unless you are measuring accurately how much you normally lift.
So depending on your regime and diet, imagine adding a few extra reps to your lifts and expect to see results based on that! So I would give it at least a month of good hard training before expecting dramatic results.
But considering the last reps are the most important, creatine can really help your strength training.
These guys did a video of their results with our creatine, it only took them three weeks to put a half an inch onto their arms:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=cahK5CuvBLM
In fact there’s mixed evidence to support Creatine loading. Some people even believe it is a marketing ploy to get people to take more! Which is why we haven’t recommended it on the bottle.
EXCEED THE DOSE AT YOUR OWN RISK – taking too much Creatine in one dose can have an effect on your bowels – for most people it will be fine, it will just be worse for people with digestive problems. If you want to try out a loading phase, then do so at your own risk!
Some creatine may require you to avoid taking it constantly for long periods of time. This is because your body needs to purge itself of the impurities found in inferior brands. As our creatine is 100% pure, you do not need to worry about cycling off our creatine. But it’s just down to your personal preference.
Check out our blog post about the manufacturing process at: www.rawbarrel.com/how-creatine-monohydrate-is-made/
As far as we are aware, all basic Creatine Monohydrate is manufactured in China, with the exception of the expensive CreaPure brand which comes from Germany.
Our raw creatine is imported from China, then refined, checked and bottled in the US. We use a UV spectrometer to check for any unwanted ingredients, which includes things like heavy metals. We can’t speak for other products from China, but ours is as pure as you can get!
All bought creatine is made synthetically, it’s only the stuff inside you that will come from meat or dairy. In fact, it is only synthesised from two key components, sarcosine and cyanamide. This makes our creatine powder safe for all diets.
However, we do not have the USDA certifications to ‘officially’ state that it is vegan or gluten-free.
However, our creatine capsules do contain gelatine, which is not vegan-friendly and we can not confirm that this is halal.
All our products are manufactured and packaged in a facility which may also process milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and crustacean shellfish.
There are conflicting studies about what time of day it should be taken. As everyone’s body is slightly different, you would have to test it for yourself to find out if it makes a difference! The most important thing is just to take it regularly.
It’s actually a myth that creatine dehydrates you.
In fact various studies are suggesting that even drinking the ‘recommended’ 2 litres of water a day is irrelevant as your body just passes it. It just can’t absorb that much! Your body is highly responsive to the environment, if it’s not getting enough water it simply limits the amount you will pee, and if there’s too much water, it will just get rid of it by making you need the bathroom!
Simply take sips of water throughout the day. (Remember that you’re food contains a lot of water too) About a litre would probably be fine. As long as your urine isn’t super yellow, you’re hydrated!
Genetics are the only thing that have been proven to cause baldness I’m afraid. Which is really down to luck!
People often blame a high level DHT for a cause of hair loss, and as creatine an cause this to increase in the blood, they blame it. But actually, everyone has a varying amount of DHT in their system already, a lot of people have high levels and are absolutely fine.
Therefore creatine really shouldn’t be an issue!
Check out our blog post about BCAA’s at: www.rawbarrel.com/what-are-bcaas/
We recommend taking 2 servings a day (3 tablets per serving), once before training and once after (about 30-45 minutes before/after)
Each of our tablets is a 1g dose, so it’s very easy to calculate your intake if you would like to take more or less – but we don’t recommend more than is stated on the bottle. (Some people take anywhere between 5 – 15 grams a day)
Just remember that BCAA’s are also found in most protein powders, so bear this in mind when deciding your daily dose.
They are manufactured and packaged in the USA.
All the ingredients are derived from vegetables (rice, beet, and sugar cane) or synthetic compounds, making them gluten-free and vegetarian. However, we do not have the USDA certifications to ‘officially’ state that it is vegan friendly.
However, our BCAAs are also manufactured and packaged in a facility which may also process milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and crustacean shellfish.
They are made from BCAAs at a 2:1:1 (Per tablet: L-Leucine 500 m, L-Isoleucine 250 mg, L-Valine 250 mg). All the natural ingredients are made by fermenting rice, beet, and sugar cane.
There are also trace amounts of elements which bind the BCAAs into a solid-formed tablet, which are: Calcium carbonate, vegetable stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, vegetable magnesium stearate, purified water, silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and vegetable glycerin.
For our powdered L-Glutamine: Take 2-5g dissolved into any liquid, two to three times a day at any time of a day, every day. There is a scoop in the bottle, which is a 5g serving. We recommend about 120ml-175ml (4-6oz) of liquid per 2g serving. L-Glutamine dissolves much better in warm rather than cold water.
For our L-Glutamine tablets: Take one tablet, one to three times a day at any time of a day, every day (this is 1-3 grams a day).
We don’t officially recommend more than is stated on the bottle, but some people take anywhere between 5 – 10 grams a day (one to two teaspoons) depending on their size and goals. But do so at your own risk!
It really doesn’t matter too much what time you take it. So just make sure you take it each day to keep it in your system. But we recommend L-Glutamine right before bed and right upon waking.
Although L-Glutamine doesn’t directly contain gluten, gluten intolerant people should be careful, it may disagree with you! This is because anyone with a sensative gut should be careful when taking new supplements – especially ones that have an impact on your gut. Although you may even see an improvement, as L-Glutamine helps to strengthen your gut lining.
However, it is manufactured and packaged in a facility which may also process milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and crustacean shellfish.
Our L-Glutamine tablets are manufactured in the USA.
On the other hand, our powdered L-Glutamine is imported from an advanced facility in Japan, then refined, checked and bottled in the US.
We use a UV spectrometer to check for any unwanted ingredients, which includes things like heavy metals. We can’t speak for other products from overseas, but ours is as pure as you can get.
Yes, all of our products are suitable for any gender.
Unfortunately it is only marketing that tries to target men or women exclusively – when it comes to fitness, we all have human bodies! It only depends on what your goals are – our BCAA’s, Carnitine and Glutamine help maintain muscle on a reduced fat diet, while our Creatine helps you to push harder at strength training. So assuming that’s what you want, these supplements are for you, whatever your gender.
All of our products are GMO free, with the exception of our protein powder. Due to the nature of the sourcing our Whey, we cannot 100% guarantee GMO feed was not used on the cattle. So we don’t want to claim it!
The lot #, manufacturing date, and expiration date are printed on the bottom of the container. The expiration date is 2 years after the manufactured date.
